Sylvie DRUSIAN,
Born in Bègles, Gironde-France, in 1964
Sylvie is purely autodidact. She is fascinated by the artistic talent of her father, an amateur painter, who paints on canvas but also frescoes on the walls of his house. Since her early childhood, she developed a pronounced attraction to art which grew stronger over the years. She begins by creating objects: pearl jewelry, hooks, macrames. She started sewing, she made her own clothes. She creates statuettes in clay and shells, mosaics, etc. She confirms her passion for Art during Plastic Art classes in secondary education. Helped and encouraged by her father, she developed her interest in pictorial art. She began to paint, first on glass, then on canvas. Art lessons, combined with the valuable advice given by his father, allowed him to assert his technique from the end of his adolescence.
On the cusp of her 20s, she decided to take drawing and painting lessons, to refine her artistic education, but quickly became bored. They realize that their painting does not support the rigidity of teaching. She needs to feel free to express herself fully, freed from the constraints of the institution. She decides to leave this teaching and stand on her own feet, her painting will definitely be a painting of instinct, free.
His numerous travels to France, Europe, Africa, USA (NY), will dictate the themes of his paintings, generating different periods. Even if she remains influenced by painters like Monet, Van Gogh, the impressionists in general, instinct remains her guideline. Today, with images in her head, she needs meditation to paint. She creates mainly in her workshop, surrounded by only her tools and acrylic tubes, accompanied by New Age music. In her bubble, she travels, very far, she sends us messages from her interstellar travels.
His work with acrylic allows him to faithfully transcribe his visions. His talent, based on the inventiveness of shapes and colors in a shimmering patchwork of rare sensitivity, then takes on a meaning which touches on the evidence of his travels, his evidence which becomes ours. She says of her work; “Creating emotions through my paintings is my life path. Come into my world, then everything will become possible...“, is this not the objective sought and achieved by his works?
For more than twenty years she has participated in local exhibitions in Gironde.
